Gustave Roussy is part of the medical Faculty of Paris Saclay University. Leading Cancer Center in Europe, Gustave Roussy is ranked the third world’s best oncology hospital according to Newsweek magazine (2023) and the first one outside the United States. The activities of the Institute’s research units focus on molecular medicine, immunotherapy, DNA repair and artificial intelligence (https://www.gustaveroussy.fr/en/main-research-axes).

Gustave Roussy’s “2030 strategic plan” includes environmental exemplarity for the next decade. In 2020, Green group initiative was launched to spread the culture of sustainable development in all aspects of the intitute’s life (mobility, care, food…). Since 2021, a subgroup is dedicated to issues related to research laboratories. This subgroup includes volunteers from different backgrounds and laboratories: technical staff, students, researchers.

Located in the south of Paris, France, Paris-Saclay University benefits from a strategic geographical and socio-economic position that is strengthened by its international visibility. 16th university in the world according to the 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Paris-Saclay University is also ranked 1st in continental Europe. The University shares 275 laboratories representing 13% of France’s research potential.

As part of a policy of renewed sustainable development, Paris-Saclay University has chosen to explicitly become, through its research and training activities, a lever of the socio-ecological transition.
